Shelomo Alfassa is a full-time corporate emergency management & homeland security professional. He has 25 years of public safety sector experience. He has served on several federal deployments on a joint US Public Health Service / FEMA CBRN counter-terrorism response team as Deputy Commander (G8 Summit, the Atlanta Olympics, etc.), and on major Hurricane responses with the National Disaster Medical System.

He is a member of the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM), and the Section on Emergency and Crisis Management of the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA). He's an active uniformed member of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary, a vetted member of several ‘First Responder Groups’ for the US Department of Homeland Security, Science & Technology Directorate. He is a member of the “Electronic/Security Systems” sub-committee of ASTM International's Committee on Homeland Security Applications; and a member of the Public Safety Working Group if the Security Industry Association (SIA). He is also a vetted member of the FBI InfraGard program

Alfassa’s formal education includes a Harvard Business School post-graduate Certificate in Sustainable Business Strategy; a BA in Homeland Security and a Masters in Public Administration from APU. He is a Certified Emergency Disaster Professional (CEDP), Facilities Security Officer (FSO 33 CFR § 105.205), an EMT (25 years); and has passed the IAEM's Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) examination. He has been a speaker at events such as the N.Y. State Emergency Managers Conference (Public Health Emergencies); ISC-EAST (Hostile Vehicles); and has appeared on Fox News and MSNBC.

He is the author and editor of several non-fiction books on history, as well as "Essays in American Public Safety and Emergency Management." In 2021 he was awarded the national ‘Citizen of Mission’ from 'Homeland Security Today.'
